History of the lodge
Construction of Leopard Lodge was begun in 1928 by former members of the German colonial forces who returned to Namibia after WWI. The Lodge has been a hunting and guest farm for many years. The original farmhouse stands in the centre surrounded by smaller buildings built in the traditional stone manner. These accommodation buildings are comfortably shaded by an old stand of trees and surrounded by sun-tropical gardens. Situated between Hosea Kutako international airport and the city of Windhoek.
Animals at Leopard Lodge
The aim of Leopard Lodge is to make your stay a memorable one. Because we prefer to have only one group (hunters or non-hunters) at a time, we can offer personal service. The maximum number of guests at one time is 18. With thrilling hunting and epic photo-stalks, both the hunters and photographers will find more than enough game to delight them.
There are 11 dams where game can be observed, where guests can sit quietly and observe the animals as they come to quench their thirst.
By its ethical hunting, and game management techniques, conservation and care of the natural environment is the main priority at Leopard Lodge. The lodge has no internal fences and no cattle.
The following species roam on Leopard Lodge:
Game drive with Waterbuck, Black Wildebeest, Greater Kudu, Oryx, Red Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Spring buck, Warthog, Mountain Zebra, Eland, Steenbok, Giraffe, Leopard, Cheetah, Jackal, Baboon. There are also eagles, snakes, owls, geese and many other smaller animal species.
